This was painted on an island in the Susquehanna River in southern Pennsylvania. I worked on and off out there one summer. The paintings were stored outdoors under a piece of plastic. The islands and the river have a very long and interesting history. I like to think some of that has become a part of the painting along with soil and bits of debris from there which are literally part of this work.
